We also hold a Wholesale Dealer’s Authorisation issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), which permits us to supply medicines wholesale to other authorised buyers in the UK.
All medicines we supply are sourced from licensed UK wholesalers and manufacturers and are dispensed in line with GPhC standards and applicable UK medicines legislation.
3. Use of our website
You may use our website for personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to use our website in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful, or in connection with any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose or activity.
We make every effort to ensure that the information on our website is accurate at the time of publication. However, the information provided on our website is for general guidance only and does not replace personalised medical advice. You should always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, changing or stopping any treatment.
We reserve the right to update, modify, suspend or withdraw any part of our website at any time without notice.
4. Booking consultations and services
4.1 Booking process
Consultations and clinical services can be booked through our website, by telephone, by WhatsApp, or in person at the pharmacy. When you book a service, you may be asked to pay a consultation fee or deposit at the time of booking. This is taken to confirm your appointment and reduce missed appointments.
4.2 Consultation fees and deposits
Where a consultation fee is charged, it is payable at the time of booking. Where a service requires a deposit (for example, travel vaccination consultations), this will be clearly shown at the time of booking and is generally redeemable against the cost of any treatment, vaccine or medicine supplied at the appointment.
Service prices are shown on the relevant pages of our website and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices may change from time to time, but the price you pay is the price displayed at the time you book.
4.3 Cancellation, rescheduling and refunds
We understand that plans change. Our policy is as follows:
• If you cancel or reschedule your appointment more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time, you will receive a full refund of any consultation fee or deposit paid, or you may move it to a new appointment without charge.
• If you cancel or reschedule your appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time, or you do not attend (“no show”), the consultation fee or deposit is non-refundable.
• Where exceptional circumstances apply (for example, sudden illness or bereavement), please contact us. We will use reasonable discretion.
4.4 Eligibility and clinical judgement
All clinical services are provided subject to the professional judgement of our pharmacists. Our pharmacists may decline to provide a service if they consider it would not be clinically appropriate or safe to do so, or if it would not be in your best interests. Where we decline to provide a service for clinical reasons, any consultation fee or deposit paid will be refunded in full, unless a chargeable consultation has already taken place.
4.5 Age requirements for services
Some services have minimum age requirements:
• 18 and over only: Weight management (including GLP-1 medications), ADHD private prescriptions, and smoking and vaping cessation services.
• Available to all ages, with parent or guardian consent and presence required for under 18s: Travel vaccinations, flu vaccinations, other private vaccinations, blood tests, and ear microsuction. Vaccination of infants and young children is offered at the clinical discretion of our pharmacist.
Where a young person is aged 16 or 17, they are presumed to have capacity to consent to their own treatment. Where a person is under 16, treatment may still be provided where a competence assessment is carried out by our pharmacist in line with established guidelines, or where a parent or guardian provides consent and is present at the appointment.
Our pharmacists may at their professional discretion decline to provide any service where they consider that age, capacity or other clinical considerations make it inappropriate to do so.
4.6 Information you provide
To deliver our services safely, you agree to provide accurate, complete and current information about your health, medical history, current medications, allergies, and any other information requested by our pharmacist. You agree to inform us of any changes that may affect your treatment.
Providing false, incomplete or misleading information may put your safety at risk and may result in us declining to provide a service. We will not be liable for any harm arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.
5. Prescription medicines
Prescription-only medicines (POMs) can only be supplied against a valid prescription issued by an authorised UK prescriber, or following a private consultation with a prescriber working with our pharmacy and the issue of a prescription where clinically appropriate.
All prescription medicines are dispensed in accordance with the law, the GPhC standards and our internal Standard Operating Procedures. We may decline to dispense a prescription where we have any concerns about authenticity, clinical appropriateness or safety.
Prescription medicines, once dispensed and supplied, cannot be returned to the pharmacy for safety reasons. This is a regulatory requirement. If you no longer need a medicine, please return it to a pharmacy for safe disposal.
6. Delivery
6.1 NHS prescriptions
We offer free same-day delivery of NHS prescriptions to patients within a 2-mile radius of our pharmacy at 486a Caledonian Road, where the prescription is ready before our daily cut-off time of 2:00pm. Prescriptions ready after the cut-off will be delivered the following working day.
Free delivery of NHS prescriptions is offered as a goodwill service and is subject to availability, courier capacity, and our pharmacist’s professional discretion. We may decline or alter the service for any individual delivery where we consider it necessary.
6.2 Private prescriptions
We offer same-day delivery of private prescriptions within a 2-mile radius of our pharmacy, where the prescription is ready before 2:00pm. Same-day local delivery is currently provided free of charge.
Deliveries beyond the 2-mile radius are available across the UK, charged at cost. Delivery options and prices will be confirmed before dispatch. Standard tracked next-day delivery is available; same-day or priority delivery may be available, subject to courier availability and additional cost.
6.3 Online shop deliveries
Where you purchase products from our online shop (such as supplements and health products), delivery options will be presented at checkout. Delivery costs and estimated delivery times will be shown before you complete your order. Risk in goods passes to you on delivery.
6.4 Receipt of medicines
For prescription medicines, deliveries are made to the patient or another responsible adult at the address provided. We may require proof of identity for the delivery of certain medicines, including controlled drugs. If we are unable to make a safe delivery, the medicine will be returned to the pharmacy, and you will be contacted to arrange collection or redelivery.
7. Online shop and product purchases
Where we sell health products, supplements or other goods through our website, the following terms apply in addition to the rest of these Terms.
• All product descriptions are provided in good faith. Images are for illustration; actual packaging may vary.
• Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.
• Your order is a request to buy and is accepted when we send you a dispatch confirmation. Until then, no contract is formed.
• We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example, where stock is unavailable, the price displayed was incorrect, or we have concerns about the order.
Returns and refunds for products purchased from our online shop are governed by our Returns and Refunds Policy.
8. Payment
Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card details on our systems. By providing payment details, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method.
Where payment fails, we may suspend any service or order until payment is received.
9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.
Subject to the above, we will not be liable to you for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for any loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of business opportunity. Our total liability to you in connection with any single contract for services or products will not exceed the price you paid us under that contract.
We are not liable for any health outcome that arises from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide, or from your failure to follow advice given by our pharmacist or another healthcare professional.
10. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us. We have a formal Complaints Procedure available on our website and at the pharmacy. We aim to acknowledge complaints within three working days and resolve them within twenty working days.
11. Privacy and data protection
We take the privacy of our patients and customers seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
12. Intellectual property
All content on our website, including the Caledonian Pharmacy name, logo, brand identity, text, graphics and photography, is owned by or licensed to Caledonian Pharma Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce or use any of this content without our prior written permission, other than for personal, non-commercial use.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. The version that applies to your use of our services is the version in force at the time you book or purchase from us.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
